Tragic discovery as missing Princeton University student Misrach Ewunetie has been found dead
Twenty-year-old Misrach Ewunetie, an undergraduate student at New Jersey’s prestigious Princeton University, had been missing since Friday, October 14. Tragically, following a week of searching, her lifeless body was discovered on the Princeton University campus yesterday, Thursday, October 20. According to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, Ewunetie’s body was discovered around 1 p.m. “outside on the Facilities grounds behind the tennis courts” by a facilities employee.

ABC News quoted the Prosecutor’s Office as saying that “there were no obvious signs of injury and her death does not appear suspicious or criminal in nature,” and that an autopsy on her remains will be conducted. Mercer County prosecutor Angelo Onofri and Princeton University assistant vice president for public safety Kenneth Strother Jr. released a joint statement regarding the somber news:
Princeton University also released a separate statement to the university community regarding Ewunetie’s untimely death, offered words of condolences to her family, and announced the availability of grief counseling services for students, faculty and staff.
Misrach’s death is an unthinkable tragedy. Our hearts go out to her family, her friends and the many others who knew and loved her.
We are planning an opportunity for students to join together and remember Misrach. Information about the gathering will be shared separately when details are known.
