Trio broke into 95-year-old woman’s home, beat, strangled and robbed her
Yesterday, the Hagerstown Police Department (HPD) reported on a case that went down on March 7 when their officers responded to a residence on Marshall Street. Upon their arrival, officers found a 95-year-old woman with injuries to her head, neck and face. The victim told the first responders that a man broke into her home and tried to kill her.
The elderly woman was transported to Meritus Medical Center and HPD investigators arrived on scene.
Detectives determined that the victim recently had home health care assistance personnel come to her residence. Angel Marie Parker began assisting in the home and became aware of a large sum of cash that the victim kept. HPD is alleging that Parker then coordinated a plan with Jacob Benjamin Kitch-Nordsick and Taylor Paul Alexander to steal the money.
It is believed that one or more suspects entered the home on the night of March 7, physically assaulted the homeowner and stole her money. The victim is believed to have been knocked unconscious and strangled. When she came to, she was on the floor, the suspects were gone and she was able to use her home health alert necklace to alert 911 that she needed assistance. The elderly woman has since been treated and released.
The Hagerstown PD credited the responding officers and EMTs that provided initial treatment to the brave woman and said how pleased they were that the woman wasn’t not more seriously injured or killed. HPD also praised their detectives and investigators for their work in identifying the three suspects.
All three of the subjects have been arrested and are jailed without bond. The following charges apply:
