On December 27, Maryland State Police released a statement saying that they arrested and charged the driver involved in an apparent road rage incident that occurred earlier this month in Baltimore County.   The accused is identified as Brandon Jones, 31, of Woodlawn, Maryland.  Jones is charged with first and second-degree assault and the unauthorized use of a handgun.

At the time of the incident, Jones was operating a 2017 black Ford Expedition.  Jones was processed at the Golden Ring Barrack on Wednesday afternoon and is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center.  The victim is not being identified at this time. He was operating a red 2006 Subaru Forester and was the sole occupant of his vehicle at the time the incident occurred.

Shortly before 7:00 a.m., on Friday, December 15, 2017, troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack received a 911 call from the victim reporting an alleged road rage incident as he was traveling on the ramp from Security Boulevard to the outer loop of I-695.  The victim told police a man, driving a black Ford Expedition with Maryland tags on I-695 in Baltimore County, merged in front of him and nearly caused a crash. Before speeding off, the driver of the Expedition allegedly pointed a black semi-automatic gun at the victim.

Troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack responded to the victim’s location to gather information in an effort to locate the suspect.  A lookout was immediately placed in the surrounding area for the suspect vehicle.

Further investigation led police to Jones. Shortly after 3:00 p.m. on December 27, Jones was served an arrest warrant at the Golden Ring Barrack.  Police do not believe any shots were fired.  No one was injured in the incident.

The investigation continues into this road rage incident. Anyone with any information relevant to this investigation is asked to contact Trooper Walsh at the Golden Ring Barrack at 410-780-2700.  Callers may remain anonymous.
