Yesterday, police in Tulsa, Oklahoma, shared a disturbing report after being called to a home on Monday regarding an “axe-ing” that took place at the residence, located at 12th and S. Houston in downtown Tulsa.

The victim, a 21-year-old man, was sitting on the couch in the apartment eating. The suspect, Israel (AKA Isreal) Trejo, was standing in the living room holding an axe that he was attempting to buy from someone else.

The victim and Trejo never spoke to one another. After a few minutes of holding the axe, Trejo swung the axe and buried it deep inside the victim’s head.

Our victim didn’t make himself a victim by any means, you know or put himself — he was just eating dinner. Very bizarre terrible incident,” said Officer Danny BeanTulsa Police Department, Public Information Officer.

He never even said a word to our victim. He’s sitting down and eating, and he takes this axe and fully swings it strokes our victim right in the top of his head and buries the axe in his head,” said Bean.  ~ News On 6

The victim was taken to the hospital with the axe still buried in his head. Currently, doctors do not expect the 21-year-old to survive his injuries. Following the unprovoked axe-ing, Trejo ran from the house but was caught by Officers shortly afterwards at 6th and Peoria.   Several witnesses were in the house at the time;  and security cameras recorded the incident on video. ‘

Following being taken into custody, Trejo was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon AFCF (After Former Conviction of a Felony).  If the 21-year-old victim does not survive, the charge will be upgraded to 1st Degree Murder, and this will be considered a homicide.

Fox 23 News quoted Bean as saying, “I would say [this is] as violent as it can get. He knew what he was doing.”
