On February 8, Police in Tulsa reported on an incident where their patrol officers spotted a vehicle on Sheridan Road near 18th Street traveling 5 mph without hazard lights on. The vehicle was smoking and appeared to not be roadworthy.  Police said they spotted that driver around 12:30 a.m. on February 5.

Officers pulled the car over and spoke with the driver, Phillippe Garmy.

Inside the vehicle, Officers could see an open Fireball shot container, an open Budweiser, and an open bottle of tequila, according to ABC News in Tulsa. After taking Garmy into custody, Officers also located many different types of drugs in the vehicle, according to KRMG.

Garmy admitted to being in possession of a Heroin, Cocaine, PCP, Methamphetamine, and Oxycodone. Officers also recovered a large amount of cash, believed to be drug proceeds.  A pistol was also located in the car.

This wasn’t Garmy’s first run-in with Tulsa law enforcement.  Back in 2014, he was convicted of having drugs while he was in jail, according to More Law. On January 27, 2014, the State of Oklahoma charged Garmy with:  POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED DRUG IN JAIL / PENAL INSTITUTION.  After pleading guilty, he was convicted of that offense.

Following his February 5 traffic stop, police say they arrested Garmy for:

  • Trafficking Cocaine with a Prior Drug Conviction
  • Trafficking Methamphetamine with a Prior Drug Conviction
  • Trafficking PCP with a Prior Drug Conviction
  • Possession of a Firearm AFCF (After Former Conviction of a Felony)
  • Drug Possession AFCF
  • Possession of a Controlled Drug without a Prescription
  • No insurance
  • Transporting an Open Container
