Two-car crash involving KinderCare bus in Bel Air sends 11 kids and one adult to hospital
On the morning of September 11 in Harford County, Maryland, a two-vehicle car crash involving a school bus sent 11 children and one adult to the hospital. Maryland State Police are investigating.

Ten children, traveling on a KinderCare 15 passenger mini-bus, were transported to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air for treatment of their injuries. A driver and a one-year-old child traveling in a Honda Accord, were transported by ground to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore for treatment of their injuries.
Shortly after 8:30 a.m. yesterday morning, State Troopers from the Bel Air Barrack responded to the area of Maryland Route 924 (Emmorton Road) and Bel Air South Parkway for the report of a two-vehicle crash involving a bus. According to a preliminary investigation, the bus was traveling northbound on MD 924 while the Honda was traveling southbound on MD 924.
A KinderCare representative sent a statement to 11 News, saying: “This morning, students on the Kensington KinderCare bus were in a motor vehicle accident on their way to their elementary school. Thankfully, none of the children sustained serious injuries. However, paramedics advised that all children be transported to the local hospital for evaluation as a precaution. Two children have since returned to our care. ~ WBAL-TV
According to a preliminary investigation, the Honda was attempting to make a left turn onto Laurel Bush Road and failed to yield to the right of way, subsequently causing the bus to crash into the passenger side of the Honda. Police say that no roads were closed for the investigation and that the cause of the crash is under investigation.
