Two drug houses raided in Vero Beach, several locals arrested and charged
Earlier today, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, headquartered in Vero Beach, Florida, reported that an investigation they started back in March resulted in two different search warrants and a number of arrests centered around the possession and sale of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.
Robert King of Vero Beach was arrested for sale of Methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a church, display of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. King remained in the Indian River County Jail until he was able to post bond on June 25. The Honorable Judge Vaughn set a curfew for him and told King that he had to refrain from any and all criminal activities, like selling drugs.
Since bonding out though, King was caught violating his bond conditions twice; and the State Attorney’s Office was in the process of revoking his bond. King is once again incarcerated, according to today’s bookings.
Also during that time period, two residences had been racking up frequent drug complaints and numerous calls for service requiring a patrol deputy response.
- 680 9th Place has had 15 calls for service so far in 2020. Those calls included drug overdoses, grand theft auto, thefts, disturbances and searches for wanted subjects. One neighbor stated they repeatedly had subjects mistakenly knocking on their door trying to buy drugs.
- 66 44th Avenue had ten calls for service so far in 2020, calls that included drug incidents, drug overdoses, searches for wanted subjects and trespassing complaints. Richard Camacho was in charge of this residence and earlier this year he was arrested for drug sales. Camacho bonded out of jail on August 5.
Special Investigation Unit detectives began a new drug investigation into the above residences and found that King had been selling drugs out of both. Arrest warrants were again obtained for Robert King as well as search warrants for both residences.
On August 7, the Indian River County SWAT team served both search warrants and as a result Fentanyl, Crack Cocaine, Methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a BB gun altered to look like a real handgun were recovered.
