Two New Yorkers arrested after stealing meds from multiple Harford County Walgreens
(Walgreens – Rock Spring Road, Forest Hill, Maryland)
The Harford County Sheriff’s Office (HARCO) announced that they have two people in custody; and deputies are attempting to locate a third person in connection to medication thefts at several local pharmacies.
On May 22 at 7:24 p.m., HARCO Deputies responded to the Walgreens in the 2000 block of Rock Spring Road in Forest Hill, Maryland, for the report of a theft in progress. Upon their arrival, deputies were informed that two unknown individuals had filled a bag with numerous items, including a large quantity of over-the-counter medications, and fled the store prior to deputies’ arrival. The suspects matched the description of the suspects in a similar theft that occurred earlier in the day at the Walgreens in the 1300 block of Riverside Parkway, in Belcamp.
Deputies then broadcast a description of the suspects and the vehicle they were driving and began an area search. Shortly before 8 p.m., deputies conducting proactive patrol checks on local pharmacies discovered a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle’s description at the Walgreens in the 2100 block of Fallston Road in Fallston. Deputies made contact with two individuals connected to the vehicle when they returned to the vehicle, and discovered items taken during the other Walgreens thefts, and other local retail establishments.
The suspects are identified as Dezire Shyn Wenner, 22 of Harlem, New York, and Kenyata Johnson, 25, of New York City, New York. Both were taken into custody and transported to the Criminal Investigations Division for interview. Additional investigation led sheriff’s detectives to believe a third suspect was involved in the thefts.
Following their interview, Wenner and Johnson were charged with theft $100 to under $1,500, theft $1,500 to under $25,000 and other related charged. They were both transported to the Harford County Detention Center, where they are being held without bail.
The investigation is ongoing. Detectives are attempting to locate the third suspect. The Sheriff’s Office said that they won’t be releasing any further info regarding the case at this time.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division at 410-836-5442.
