Two Vero Beach men arrested on drug and gun charges
On February 20, the Indian River Sheriff’s Office (IRSO) in Vero Beach, Florida, announced that they captured their “Fugitive of the Week,” 27-year-old Corbin Jaquan Hill of Vero Beach. Law enforcement has wanted Corbin for the possession and sale of cocaine since November 2020. Although the Sheriff’s Office said they received many tips regarding Hill, they hadn’t had any luck in catching up with him.
But on February 19th, Deputy U.S. Marshals and Indian River County Sheriffs Task Force officers from the Fort Pierce office of the Florida/ Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force were able to act on one of those tips.
Hill was taken into custody without incident. And law enforcement was able to make a bonus arrest at the same time.
While taking Hill into custody, several subjects were encountered; and 24-year-old Reche’ Micah Thomas, also from Vero Beach, was seen pulling a firearm from his waistband and throwing it under a truck. Thomas did not have a concealed carry permit and was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm – a felony.
This marks the second time Thomas has been arrested and charged with Carry Concealed Firearm. Thomas was released from jail after posting a $2,500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 26.
The supportive relationships between law enforcement agencies working in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force are an invaluable asset during multijurisdictional fugitive investigations. ~ IRSO
