“Omarosa,” the former reality star from Donald Trump’s TV show ”The Apprentice” who went on to serve in the Trump White House as the assistant to the president and director of communications before leaving that position in 2017 and releasing the tell-all White House book Unhinged in 2018, “was sued by the U.S. for failing to file a financial disclosure report, in violation of the Ethics in Government Act,” according to Bloomberg.

This is a civil lawsuit that is undoubtedly President Trump’s retaliation against Omarosa Manigault-Newman’ s Unhinged which presented the president and his White House in an unfavorable light and questioned the president’s mental stability.

The lawsuit “seeks a court order compelling her to file the report and pay a fine of as much as $50,000,” according to MSN.

Omarosa’s lawyer, John Phillips, “accused the White House of using the Justice Department to retaliate against Manigault Newman and said allegations that she “knowingly and willfully” did not file the disclosure report is untrue,” according to a quote from USA Today.  Phillips went on to say that his client did try to file that report but was unable to do so because the White House would not allow her access to the contents of “seven boxes” of documents that were seized after she left the White House.

Following the release of Unhinged, Trump also unleashed one of his infamous personal attacks against the former reality TV star, calling her “a dog” and tweeting “When you give a crazed, crying lowlife a break, and give her a job at the White House, I guess it just didn’t work out.”

Regarding those seven boxes of documents and files that Omarosa needed to complete her report, Phillips said, “It wasn’t until May 10, 2019, that they agreed to provide documents or even acknowledged their existence. We requested an extension until her documents could be returned.”

Omarosa also claims to have in her possession approximately 200 audio recordings of secret tapes she made in and around the White House during her tenure as Trump’s presidential aide.  As of this writing, she has released four of those recordings.
