Undocumented alien arrested and charged with raping woman in Hobe Sound
On December 10, Florida’s Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) announced that a 31-year-old undocumented male suspected of breaking into a woman’s home in Hobe Sound and raping her has been tracked down by local law enforcement, located and taken into custody.
Jose Gregorio Flores Villa was arrested by detectives and MCSO Road Patrol units on the evening of December 9. Flores Villa is accused of breaking into the home of his female victim, who was a former acquaintance. The victim said he brandished a gun, and then raped her before fleeing the residence immediately afterward.
MCSO detectives were notified of the violent assault and promptly began a search utilizing all available resources to locate him. On Monday night, detectives located his vehicle exiting the interstate as he appeared to be headed towards the victim’s home yet again. And that’s when he was arrested.
“These types of cases, they’re the most urgent. We don’t need pedophiles and predators like this on our streets. So whether they’re undocumented or American citizens, there’s no room for them in society,” said Yesenia Carde, a Lieutenant with MCSO Criminal Investigations Division. Deputies tracked Flores Villa’s car on the interstate heading south and followed him as he exited at Bridge Road, the closest exit to the victim’s home.
“There was really no other reason for him to be in that area,” said Carde. ~ CBS 12 News
Flores Villa is being held at the Martin County Jail on charges of sexual assault, burglary with assault, and driving without a license. He is being held without bond. Due to his undocumented status, Immigration Services placed a detainer on him, as he is in the U.S. illegally from from Mexico.
