Update: Witch-man from Alabama charged with kidnapping in case of missing mom Leila Cavett
Today marks Day 24 in the case of missing mom Leila Cavett, who was last seen on July 26 near a Walmart in Hollywood, Florida. Adding to the desperation in searching for Leila, her two-year-old son, Kamdyn, was found wandering alone in an apartment complex in Miramar, Florida. Yesterday, we reported that 38-year-old Shanon Ryan, a self-proclaimed witch hailing from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, was arrested in connection with the missing mom case.
Ryan, the last person reportedly to see Leila alive, has been held in the Broward County Jail since his arrest, without bond, on two counts of lying to federal officials. Today, CBS News in Miami reported that he has now also been charged with kidnapping Leila’s two-year-old son.
Surveillance video recovered from the area where Kamdyn was found wandering alone in the streets also depicts Ryan’s vehicle in that same area. Cellphone records also show that Ryan was in the same area where it was believed that he abandoned the child following the kidnapping.
And a strong circumstantial case appears to be mounting against Ryan in the possible murder of Kamdyn’s mom, 21-year-old Leila Cavett.
According to the arrest affidavit, Ryan had used Cavett’s credit card to make several purchases at the RaceTrac and the nearby Walmart on July 26th. One purchase at Walmart was for Hefty Strong 39 Gallon Extra Large Trash Drawstring Bags and two boxes of Extra Strength Carpet Odor Eliminator.

According to court documents, Ryan said he met up with Cavett originally because she was selling him her pickup truck. He claims that he paid her $3,000 cash for it.
According to the complaint, Ryan tried to sell the truck to another man for $1,000. A gas station employee told detectives that they recalled Ryan using the RaceTrac dumpster and noticed children’s toys and women’s clothing inside it. ~ True Crime Daily
It should be noted that there have been no formal charges yet to be filed against Ryan regarding Leila’s disappearance or possible murder. He’s only been charged with lying and kidnapping Kamdyn.
Just prior to his arrest, Ryan, the self-proclaimed witch-man, went on his Facebook page and posted: “Anyone who thinks I have something to do with Leila missing can you please comment on this post. I want to demonstrate my powers and make all of you disappear off my timeline all at once. Don’t get scared now.”
