Vero Beach man arrested after threatening to harm deputy responding to noise complaint
On November 7, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Officer announced that one of their deputies responded to a noise complaint call at an apartment building located at 1166 6th Avenue in Vero Beach, Florida. When the deputy reached the source of the noise, which turned out to be Vero Beach resident Brandon Mayerat, instead of cooperating with the deputy, the noisemaker began making numerous threats to do harm to the deputy.
Deputies learned Mayerat threatened a neighbor earlier in the day when he was asked to turn his music down.
Officials said Mayerat made numerous threats of harm, including when officers attempted to de-escalate the situation by trying to have a dialog with the man. ~ WPTV
Law enforcement made their way into Mayerat’s apartment and took him into custody.
The Sheriff’s Office did not go into detail as to any charges that may have been brought against Mayerat.
