Vero Beach man charged with violent New Year’s Eve stabbing at local club
A Vero Beach man, identified as 66-year-old Michael A. Guadiani, has been arrested and charged in the violent stabbing of another man at a New Year’s Eve celebration that went down at the Grind and Grape located at 925 Bougainvillea Lane in Vero Beach, Florida. The stabbing occurred in the early morning hours of January 1, according to the Vero Beach Police Department (VBPD).
According to court records shared by TC Palm, when officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a 26-year-old man with a stab wound lying on the sidewalk outside of the club just after 2 a.m. on Monday. The stabbing victim was transported to HCA Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce with what was described in a police report as a severe, but non-life-threatening wound to his lower left back.
By Tuesday, it was reported that the victim was in stable condition.
The victim told investigators an argument started over seating at a table. He said he was approached by two men, one described as in his 50s or 60s, and another younger man. ~ WPTV
VBPD Officers working the detail were able to develop Guadiani as their stabbing suspect after speaking to witnesses and reviewing surveillance video. Within an hour of arriving on the scene, investigators caught up with Guadiani at his home on Seagrape Lane in Vero Beach and took him into custody.
Following his arrest, Guadiani was charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon. Guadiani is currently being detained at the Indian River County Jail with a bond set at $100,000. VBPD Investigators are still actively working the case and say that additional charges may be brought against Guadiani in the near future.
