Woman attacked, strangled by homeless man in gas station ladies restroom
Yesterday, Florida’s Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) announced that a female employee inside the restroom of a Martin County convenience store/gas station was strangled to the point of losing consciousness after a homeless man walked into the woman’s restroom and lodged an unprovoked random and violent attack on the victim.
Israel Graham, 34, who the sheriff’s office said is listed as being homeless, walked into the restroom, grabbed the woman and began choking her. Despite her best efforts to fight him off, she began to lose consciousness and fell to the ground.
Witnesses who heard unusual commotion inside the bathroom walked in and saw Graham on top of the victim with his hands around her neck. Upon seeing those concerned citizens, Graham got up and ran.
Deputies and detectives were immediately called to the location and were provided with a solid description and video clips of the suspect walking in and out of the store. Officials were able to track down and place Graham under arrest shortly after the attack.
Following his arrest, the homeless man was charged with Felony Battery and was remanded to the Martin County jail.
The sheriff’s office said that the attacked woman was treated for her injuries.
