Woman who made suicidal statements to boyfriend has been reported missing in Hernando County

On September 10, Florida’s Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, with headquarters in Brooksville and Spring Hill, reached out to their community seeking help in locating an adult female who has gone missing from their jurisdiction.

That missing woman has been identified as 44-year-old Erika Harshbarger, reportedly a resident who was living in Spring Hill, according to her Facebook page.  She also has connections to Clearwater. 

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Erika was last heard from on Friday, August 25, when according to a family member, she was involved in a heated argument with her boyfriend where she made suicidal statements.  Law enforcement has been unable to locate her.

The Sheriff’s Office provided a physical description of Erika as follows:

  • Race – White
  • Sex – Female
  • DOB – 12-05-1979
  • Height – 6’ 0”
  • Weight – 175
  • Eyes – Green
  • Hair – Long Brown
