17-year-old arrested following fatal Edgewood shooting

A 17-year-old Edgewood teen wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that left one man dead and another wounded has been arrested, bringing a months-long investigation to a significant break.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office said A’maree Curbeam, 17, was taken into custody Tuesday, Aug. 25, at a residence in Baltimore City. Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office Warrant Apprehension Unit worked with the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest Curbeam. He was taken into custody without incident.

The case stems from a Friday, April 3, 2026, shooting in the 1900 block of Eloise Lane in Edgewood. The violence left Bryan H. Burrows Jr., 20, of Edgewood, dead, while a second victim was wounded.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, detectives identified Curbeam as the alleged shooter early in the investigation. Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division continued gathering and corroborating evidence over the following months as the Warrant Apprehension Unit worked to track him down.

Following Curbeam’s arrest, HCSO detectives executed a search and seizure warrant at the Baltimore City residence where he was found. Investigators recovered a firearm during the search.

Authorities said they are still investigating whether the handgun is connected to the Edgewood homicide or to any other criminal activity. The investigation remains active and ongoing. Curbeam was transported to the Harford County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
