Baltimore County Soccer Coach arrested on child sexual abuse charges
BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. — A former youth soccer coach is behind bars after Baltimore County detectives accused him of sexually abusing and soliciting minor boys in an investigation that authorities say could involve additional victims.
Roberto Carlos Huezo Garcia, 30, was arrested this week after detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit investigated multiple reports of alleged sexual misconduct dating back to January 2026. The reported victims are male juveniles between the ages of 10 and 15.
According to charging documents, Garcia allegedly communicated with some of the boys through Snapchat and offered payments ranging from $100 to $500 in exchange for sexually explicit acts. Investigators also determined that some alleged incidents occurred outside Maryland.
Court documents indicate Garcia told a victim in January he “was in trouble for grooming kids.” He allegedly advised the victims not to tell anyone he was with them, “You don’t know me for the next few months.” ~ WBAL-TV
Garcia faces multiple charges, including:
- sexual solicitation of a minor,
- indecent exposure to a minor,
- displaying obscene material to a minor, and,
- continuously sexually abusing a minor.
A Baltimore County judge denied him bail Thursday, and he remains at the Baltimore County Detention Center. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 11.
Garcia coached for several private soccer organizations across multiple jurisdictions. He has been suspended from coaching following the allegations.
His attorney, Tom Maronick, emphasized that Garcia is presumed innocent and said the charges remain allegations that must be proven in court.
Meanwhile, police believe additional victims or witnesses may still be unidentified and are urging anyone with information about Garcia to contact the Crimes Against Children Unit at 410-887-7720.
