U2 to headline NFL’s first-ever Thanksgiving Eve Halftime Show on Netflix
U2 is bringing its legendary rock sound back to the NFL, headlining the halftime show for the league’s first-ever Thanksgiving Eve game on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2026. Netflix announced the performance on Oct. 20, promising a major musical attraction for football fans watching around the world.
The Irish rock band — Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. — will perform at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, during the primetime matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Rams. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, with the game streaming live on Netflix.
The announcement arrives during a landmark year for U2, which formed in Dublin in 1976 and is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The performance also marks the group’s return to an NFL halftime stage for the first time since its memorable appearance at Super Bowl XXXVI in February 2002.
That performance remains one of the most emotionally significant halftime shows in Super Bowl history. Coming just months after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, U2 honored the victims by displaying their names during the performance. Bono also revealed an American flag inside his jacket, creating an enduring moment of remembrance.
Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said U2 has spent decades delivering memorable stadium performances and expressed excitement about bringing the band to the NFL’s global streaming audience.
The show continues Netflix’s growing investment in high-profile NFL musical entertainment. Beyoncé headlined the streamer’s 2024 Christmas Day halftime spectacular, widely known as the “Beyoncé Bowl,” while Snoop Dogg led the 2025 holiday halftime show.
U2’s Thanksgiving Eve appearance also comes shortly before the release of its 16th studio album, Carnaval de Luz, scheduled for Nov. 13, according to Billboard and People.
With five decades of music behind them, the rock veterans will bring their catalog of enduring anthems to a new NFL holiday event — combining a major football rivalry, a global streaming audience and an anniversary celebration into one primetime spectacle.
