August 23 and 24, 2023, will go down as huge dates in American political and juris prudence history since former Donald Trump Lawyer Rudy Giuliani surrendered himself to officials in Atlanta, Georgia, yesterday and was booked at the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and charged with his  interfering in the 2020 presidential election process, specifically, “making false statements and soliciting false testimony, conspiring to create phony paperwork and asking state lawmakers to violate their oath of office to appoint an alternate slate of pro-Trump electors,” according to The Associated Press. Trump is set to surrender today, August 24.

Giuliani’s bond was set at $150,000.

The 79-year-old Giuliani was in good company in Fulton County yesterday as other celebrity defendants also surrendered to Georgia authorities, including attorney Jenna Ellis who too was involved with the fake electors plot designed to overturn the 2020 presidential election.  She was charged with two counts and had her bond set at $100,000.

Another high-profile lawyer, Sidney Powell, who could often be seen with Trump and Giuliani during those attempts to overturn the election also surrendered yesterday.  Powell is accused of making false statements about the election in Georgia and helping to organize a breach of voting equipment in rural Coffee County.  She also had a bond set at $100,000.

Right-wing lawyer, Kenneth Chesebro, also surrendered yesterday, was charged with seven counts, and had his bond set for $100,000.  Chesebro is widely considered to be the primary architect of the Trump campaign’s fake electors plot, according to CNN.

All in all, a total of 19 individuals – including Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani – have already or will be shortly appearing in Fulton County to be booked on charges in the Georgia presidential election interference case.

All of those who surrendered were released on bond. None of the 19 have yet entered pleas, since the arraignment process is separate from the booking process in Georgia. Trump, who has denied all wrongdoing, said Monday night that he will turn himself in on Thursday and has agreed to a $200,000 bond.  ~ CBS News

Trump is also expected to be fingerprinted and have his mugshot taken during today’s booking process. Like Trump, Giuliani also said publicly that he didn’t do anything wrong in trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
