Amber Alert issued for abducted one-month-old boy in Yuma, Az.

On the morning of July 26, the Yuma Police Department shared an Amber Alert to the department’s Facebook page.  According to their posted statement, the police are searching for Alfredo Raymond Daniel Lopez, 23, and have accused Lopez of kidnapping one-year-old Azriel Lopez.  Lopez is Azriel’s biological father but doesn’t have any legal parental or custodial rights to the infant at this time.  According to the police statement, “Alfredo Lopez took Azriel Lopez by force at 3:06 a.m. from the 4100 block of W. 20th Place [Yuma, Az.].”

Police described Lopez as a “5’ 9”, 150 pound, Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes. Alfredo Lopez is driving a black 2011 GMC SIERRA  [pickup truck] with Arizona license plate BVD1716. The vehicle has black rims and blue tinted head lights.”  Police described one-month-old Azriel as male, 9-10 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.   Azriel was wearing a Mickey Mouse onesie.

NBC 12 News in Arizona confirmed that the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) has activated an Amber Alert in Arizona for Azriel.  The DPS also told reporters that Lopez committed three counts of aggravated assault while abducting the infant.
