Police track down gun-brandishing I-95 road rager onto APG property, arresting Baltimore man with loaded gun

What began as an apparent road rage confrontation on I-95 quickly escalated into an alleged gun threat, sending one driver fleeing and ultimately leading police to a Baltimore man accused of pointing a handgun during the encounter.

Police say that Adam Kuper, 25, of Baltimore, pulled a firearm on another driver Friday morning while traveling northbound on I-95 in Baltimore County. Investigators say Kuper then fled into Harford County before authorities tracked him to Aberdeen Proving Ground, where police arrested him and allegedly found him carrying a loaded 9mm handgun.

The incident went down around 9:41 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, when troopers from the Maryland State Police JFK Highway Barrack responded to a report of a firearm being brandished during a road rage incident on northbound I-95 near mile marker 72 in Baltimore County.

According to the preliminary investigation, Kuper was driving a white Mazda CX-5 when he allegedly pointed a firearm at another driver. Police said he then fled the area, traveling into Harford County.

Troopers, assisted by investigators with the Maryland State Police Highway Gun Crimes Initiative and officers from the Aberdeen Proving Ground Police Department, subsequently located Kuper on Aberdeen Proving Ground property.

Police said Kuper was found in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun. Aberdeen Proving Ground police took him into custody without incident before turning him over to Maryland State Police.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported and police say that their investigation remains active and ongoing. Maryland State Police said the department continues to investigate reported gun crimes on Maryland highways and is asking anyone with information about highway gun crimes to contact investigators at 410-538-1887.
