LOS ANGELES – Jay-Z is heading to the Super Bowl halftime stage. The Grammy-winning rapper and entertainment mogul will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show on Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced yesterday.

The announcement marks a major milestone for the hip-hop superstar, whose company, Roc Nation, has helped shape the NFL’s halftime entertainment since 2019. Now, after years of working behind the scenes to bring major artists to football’s biggest stage, Jay-Z will take the spotlight himself.

“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell welcomed the announcement, recalling that when the league first partnered with Roc Nation, he had one request: that Jay-Z eventually perform at the Super Bowl when the time felt right.

The timing coincides with a major career celebration for the artist, born Shawn Carter. In 2026, Jay-Z marked the 30th anniversary of his landmark 1996 debut album, Reasonable Doubt, with sold-out concerts, special events and exclusive releases. His recent performances included three sold-out shows at Yankee Stadium, international dates in London and Paris, and appearances at SoFi Stadium.

Jay-Z’s influence extends far beyond music. A 25-time Grammy Award winner, he became the first hip-hop artist inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017 and joined the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. He has also built a far-reaching entertainment business through Roc Nation, which represents artists and athletes and advises the NFL on entertainment programming.

Roc Nation will executive-produce the halftime show, with Hamish Hamilton serving as director. The performance will air on ESPN, ABC and Disney+, with mobile viewing available through NFL+. Spanish-language broadcasts will also be available through ESPN Deportes, Disney+ and Univision.

Jay-Z’s appearance follows a string of high-profile halftime performances, including Kendrick Lamar’s record-setting audience draw in 2025 and Bad Bunny’s historic seven-Emmy-winning show in 2026.

For Jay-Z, the 2027 performance will represent a new chapter in a relationship he helped build — moving from influential producer and adviser to headliner at one of the world’s most-watched entertainment events.
