October 31, 2026 – Actress Selma Blair has publicly apologized following her arrest over her recent and very public disturbance aboard a Delta Air Lines flight earlier this month, telling those who were frightened, hurt or disappointed by the incident that she was deeply sorry.

The 54-year-old Cruel Intentions and Legally Blonde star broke her silence yesterday in an emotional video posted to Instagram. It was her first public statement since the October 11 incident, which led to her arrest at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

“I know I’ve been quiet for a couple of weeks since October 11th, and you deserve to hear from me directly,” Blair said, acknowledging the delay in addressing the controversy.

She explained that her attorneys had advised her not to discuss the ongoing legal matter but emphasized that she was taking the situation very seriously.

“What I can tell you, though, is very simple, and the truest thing I know about myself, and that not one day ever have I intended to hurt or frighten anyone a day in my life,” she said.

She then offered a direct apology: “To the people that I disappointed, that I hurt, that I frightened, alarmed, I am so sorry.”

Medical Emergency Cited in Defense:  The incident occurred aboard a Delta flight traveling from Los Angeles to New York. Authorities allege Blair became physically abusive during the flight, resulting in injuries to two flight attendants, one of whom was transported to a hospital.

After being removed from the aircraft, Blair allegedly kicked a Port Authority police officer who transported her to a hospital and later assaulted a nurse.

She was subsequently charged with two counts of second-degree assault and pleaded not guilty. Blair’s legal team has argued that the incident was triggered by a medical emergency rather than intentional misconduct.

During her October 12 arraignment, attorney Shawn Barnes told the court that Blair had missed several doses of medication used to manage neurological symptoms and had also fallen and struck her head during the flight. He argued that these circumstances, combined with the effects of altitude, caused severe confusion and disorientation.

Blair has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), which she publicly disclosed in 2018. Her representatives have also referenced other neurological conditions, including pseudobulbar affect and Parkinsonism, in discussing her medical circumstances.

Focus Turns to Health and Family:  In Friday’s video, Blair thanked supporters who had reached out with messages of love and encouragement during the difficult weeks.

She also expressed concern for her son, whom she described as her world, and her service dog, Scout, reassuring viewers that Scout was doing well.

For now, the actress said her priorities are taking care of her health and her son while expressing gratitude to those who have stood by her.

Following her arrest, Blair was released from custody on $20,000 bail. Her criminal case has been adjourned, with her next court appearance scheduled for January 19, 2027, in Queens, New York.
