Baltimore woman charged with murder after fatally stabbing man on York Road

A Baltimore woman has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder following the fatal stabbing of a 49-year-old man on York Road, Baltimore police said.
Chanel Ervin, 35, of Baltimore, was taken into custody on September 10, one day after police responded to a reported cutting in the 5200 block of York Road.
Officers from the Baltimore Police Department’s Northern District arrived at approximately 7:22 p.m. on September 9 and found a 49-year-old man suffering from an apparent stab wound.
The victim, identified as 49-year-old Royal Foster, was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medics.
Homicide detectives took over the investigation and subsequently identified Ervin as a suspect in Foster’s killing.
Police arrested Ervin on September 10 and transported her to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where she was later charged with first-degree murder. The investigation remains ongoing.
